"The Mamas-to-be" of autumn 2012 are going have the joy of a super nice looking Äitiyspakkaus!
Kela organized a contest in which students of Aalto University, School of Art and Design in Helsinki (TAIK) had to create a new visual identity for the box of mother's package. The competition was part of the "World's Design capital year 2012".
The jury consisted of Kela's professionals, Anne Neimala, Seija Kauppinen ja Suvi Onninen, the Professor of Art and Design, Marjatta Itkonen, and Erika Kallasmaa and Sakke Yrjölä, who are both graphic designers and illustrators.
The winner of the contest was student Johanna Öst Häggblom.
Her concept: "Sukupuu"
"Sukupuu kuvaa kasvuvoimaa ja elämää sekä jokaisen ihmisen omaa paikkaa maailmassa. Lapsen omaa sukupuuta täyttäessä kuvitus muuttuu henkilökohtaiseksi ja ainutlaatuiseksi."
Such a nice project from Kela and Taik together and now we have nice design coming to all the "mamas-to-be" of autumn 2012 who chose to take the package instead of the money. I, myself, would have loved to have had such a cute box to display. It would be a cool place to keep all the little toys or even books and dvd's, or whatever else we would feel like hiding in there :D!
These are prototypes of the 2nd and 3rd places on the contest. Also very nice...
Second place: "Jonossa mars" created by Reeta Et. |
3rd place: "Aarteet" created by Pauliina Nykänen. |
The new box looks super nice! I would also have loved to have this box with the new look! (Mama C.)
